The Pennant Margaret River Chardonnay
Wine
Robert Oatley The Pennant Margaret River Chardonnay is specially selected from Margaret River sites across the region from Karridale in the south through to Wilyabrup in the north.
Its name comes from a flag denoting achievement, reflecting the sailing accomplishments of the late Robert Oatley.
The fruit is whole bunch pressed to new and one year old French oak. After wild fermentation, the wine ages for nine months. Traditional malolactic fermentation is avoided to retain the wine's fine acidity.
Only the best barrels are selected for the final blend. It is a limited release wine made in small quantities.
Straw green, Robert Oatley The Pennant Margaret River Chardonnay is bright with white peach accents, multi-layered and perfectly integrated. Cellaring potential is seven years.
