Chloe Chardonnay
Wine
Woodlands Chloe Chardonnay is sourced from a 0.8 hectare plot of vines in the north-east corner of the Woodlands Vineyard, planted in 1985. It is the most shaded location on the vineyard, protected on three sides.
The fruit is handpicked and taken straight up the hill to the winery to be pressed immediately. Fermentation occurs in French oak barrels without any additions.
The wine matures in barrel with monthly lees stirring for around 10 months. It then spends a further six months in tank to integrate and settle prior to bottling.
Intense pale straw, Woodlands Chloe Chardonnay has a classic Wilyabrup Valley mix of orchard and tropical fruit flavours with a vibrant, balanced acidity to finish.
Made only in tiny quantities. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
