Wine
Taltarni Fumé Blanc is Sauvignon Blanc made in the barrel fermented Fumé style. The fruit, typically grown in the Pyrenees in Victoria and the Coal River Valley in Tasmania, is picked at first light.
Whole bunches of grapes are loaded directly into the press, ensuring their varietal flavours and natural acidity are retained. After being pressed, chilled and racked the juice naturally begins fermentation.
It is then transferred to large French oak barrels to complete the process at low temperatures. As it matures on lees, the wine receives weekly stirring to develop texture and weight.
Crisp straw green, Taltarni Fumé Blanc is a generous wine with melon flavours, mouth filling citrus acidity and a lingering, creamy finish. Cellaring potential is three years.
