Wine
Moorooduc Estate Garden Vineyard Pinot Noir draws from a site just across the hill from the estate's home vineyard at Moorooduc on the cool climate Mornington Peninsula.
The Garden Vineyard has dense clay soils, which nurture less vigorous vines with lower yields. All the fruit is handpicked.
The whole bunches are placed directly into open fermenters for wild yeast fermentation. The juice spends 20 days on skins.
It then transfers to one quarter new French oak barrels for natural malolactic fermentation and 17 months of ageing. The wine is racked once prior to bottling without fining or filtration.
Bright garnet, Moorooduc Estate Garden Vineyard Pinot Noir has crunchy red fruit flavours, firm tannins and lovely balance. Cellaring potential is seven years.
