Shiraz
Wine
Frankland Estate Shiraz is made from estate grown Shiraz with a small amount of Viognier. The fruit is selected from the original vines near the winery, and younger vines on a rocky ironstone ridge.
The grapes ferment slowly in open tanks with gentle plunging and pump overs. Extended maceration follows for optimal colour, flavour and tannin extraction. The wine matures for 18 months in French oak.
Deep purple crimson, Frankland Estate Shiraz has ripe dark fruit flavours that entwine with subtle oak and long, grainy tannins. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
