Wine
Clonakilla Syrah is made with fruit from the estate's north-east facing T&L Vineyard in Murrumbateman, from the same vines that contribute to the winery's iconic Shiraz Viognier.
The winemaking is intentionally kept simple. Its purpose is to capture the personality of the fruit, not impose the winemaker's vision upon it.
Whole berries are fermented with their native yeasts. The wine spends a month macerating on skins, then 20 months in one third new French oak puncheons.
Deep dark purple, Clonakilla Syrah is powerful with rich wild berry flavours, potent spice characters and a lasting finish. Cellaring potential is 20 years.
