Vine Vale Grenache
Wine
Yalumba Vine Vale Grenache is made from old bush vines grown on the warm Barossa Valley floor. Slow summer ripening on deep sand over moisture laden yellow clay soils brings out the wine's varietal characteristics.
The handpicked grapes are placed into open top fermenters, one third as whole bunches the remainder crushed. The wild yeasts present on the grape skins initiate fermentation. Post ferment the wine stays on skins for five weeks.
Once drained and pressed, the wine matures for nine months in seasoned French and Hungarian oak hogsheads.
Deep purple, Yalumba Vine Vale Grenache is rich and balanced, with lively acidity. A distinctive Barossa Grenache. Cellaring potential is six years.
