777 Pinot Noir
Wine
Sidewood 777 Pinot Noir is a single vineyard, single clone wine grown in the cool climate Adelaide Hills. The rows are planted east-west to maximize the intensity of the fruit flavour.
The handpicked Clone 777 grapes are chilled in the cool room for 36 hours. The grapes are small batch vinified, mostly as destemmed whole berries, but with some whole bunch inclusion.
The fruit wild yeast ferments in new and seasoned French oak 300 litre puncheons and 500 litre hogsheads. The wine sees 10 months in oak prior to barrel selection. It is made in small quantities.
Dark red, Sidewood 777 Pinot Noir has red fruit flavours and a rounded palate. Delicate tannins deliver a lasting finish. Cellaring potential is seven years.
