Single Vineyard Old Orchard Cabernets

Helen’s Hill Single Vineyard Old Orchard Cabernets is sourced from high, rocky terrain on the estate vineyard in the Yarra Valley. It was once an orchard nestled amongst the rocks and crags.

This wine is a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Handpicking ensures all fruit reaches optimum ripeness.

The fruit is destemmed and lightly crushed. All five varieties are open fermented for around two weeks. Typically, the wine remains on skins for up to six weeks post ferment, extracting colour and tannins from the skins.

After pressing, the wine is transferred into 40% new French oak barrels to mature for 18 months.

Deep inky red, Helen’s Hill Single Vineyard Old Orchard Cabernets exudes power with rich dark fruits and fine yet firm tannins. Cellaring potential is four years.
