Coonawarra Cabernet Merlot
Wine
Leconfield Coonawarra Cabernet Merlot is grown at the heart of Coonawarra, in the region's famous terra rossa soils over limestone. It is around two thirds Cabernet and one third Merlot.
The winemaking aims to add subtle oak complexity without overpowering the fruit. The wine matures in oak barrels, a small proportion new and the remainder 1-3 years old. It sees several workings to soften the tannins.
Deep crimson, Leconfield Coonawarra Cabernet Merlot is medium to full bodied with sweet fruit flavours and persistent silky tannins. Cellaring potential is eight years.
