Lenswood Riesling
Wine
Geoff Weaver Lenswood Riesling is sourced from a single cool climate vineyard high in the Adelaide Hills at Lenswood. Riesling was the first variety Geoff Weaver planted in 1982.
The fruit is crushed, destemmed and gently air bag pressed. After settling, the partly cloudy juice is racked to seasoned barrels to ferment.
The barrels are chilled to stop fermentation with a small amount of residual sugar, then the wine matures on yeast lees for seven months. These practices – including barrel fermentation – balance the naturally high acidity in the fruit.
Light straw green, Geoff Weaver Lenswood Riesling is austere in style, with gentle floral aromatics, juicy zest and a fine mineral edge. Cellaring potential is seven years.
