Shiraz
Wine
Voyager Estate Shiraz is made with select parcels of fruit from sustainably managed Shiraz blocks, grown in some of the winery's toughest shallow, stony soils.
The grapes are destemmed but not crushed for fermentation in a mix of open and static fermenters. The juice sees gentle plunging and pump overs, kept below 28°C to slowly extract tannin and colour and maintain aromatics.
The wine is pressed and transferred to barrel, predominantly French oak with around one third new. It matures for 12 months with periodic racking to aid clarification.
Bright crimson, Voyager Estate Shiraz is medium bodied with juicy dark berry flavours, fine tannins, hints of spice, and a savoury line to finish. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
