Grenache
Wine
Turkey Flat Grenache has been an important part of Turkey Flat since 1992. It is handpicked predominantly from old bush vines just a stone's throw from the winery.
In 2010, winemaker Mark Bulman began transitioning the wine to a more refined and contemporary style. The fruit ferments with 15% whole bunch inclusion, as well as half of the remaining stems.
The wine is transferred to a seasoned French oak foudre (vat) and smaller second use Burgundian oak, where it matures for 12 months. Malolactic fermentation occurs spontaneously in barrel.
Red purple, Turkey Flat Grenache has bright fruit flavours leading to complex spicy and savoury notes. Strong tannins ensure longevity. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
