Albert Shiraz
Wine
Teusner Albert Shiraz is sourced from one old block at Ebenezer in the Barossa Valley's north, and another in Williamstown at the region's south-eastern extremity.
Albert Shiraz is named after Albert Alfred Teusner, the grandfather of winery co-founder Kym Teusner.
The grapes are crushed one small picking bin at a time before undergoing open fermentation. The ferments are closely monitored to ensure their colour, flavour and aromas develop properly.
Maturation occurs over 18-24 months. It is one of the few Teusner wines to see a component of new oak, which adds structure to the wine.
Inky garnet, Teusner Albert Shiraz has rich dark fruit flavours with supple, velvety tannins and spice providing balance and length. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
