Wine
Tahbilk Shiraz is sourced from nearly 30 hectares of estate vines at Nagambie Lakes in central Victoria, planted at various times from the 1930s through to the early 2000s.
Like all Tahbilk wines, this Shiraz is made with traditional winemaking practices in mind. The fruit is fermented in open oak vats dating back to the 1860s.
Maturation occurs over 18 months, predominantly in large seasoned French oak barrels. Smaller, mostly French oak barrels are also used, with wine from these blended back for final filtering and bottling.
Dark crimson, Tahbilk Shiraz has lifted dark fruit flavours, earthy notes and spicy savouriness with a backbone of sinewy tannins. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
