Blackwell Shiraz
Wine
St Hallett Blackwell Shiraz is named for the winery's stalwart senior winemaker Stuart Blackwell. It is the wine that most clearly speaks of St Hallett's Barossa Valley roots.
The fruit is sourced from vineyards in the elevated north-west corner of the Barossa. The winemaking is tailored to each parcel, allowing it to showcase its provenance.
After fermentation and 8-12 days on skins, the wine is tasted to assess its balance of flavour, then pressed directly to barrel to mature. The origin and age of each barrel is carefully matched to every parcel of wine.
Dark red, St Hallett Blackwell Shiraz is an opulent, full bodied wine with black forest cake flavours and intense, persistent textures. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
