Wine
Seppelt St Peters Shiraz is the flagship Shiraz, made with parcels of the Great Western Vineyard's finest and most intensely flavoured fruit. It is released only in exceptional vintages.
This iconic wine dates back to 1964 when its forerunner Great Western Hermitage was first made. Since 1998 it has been called St Peters in honour of the first vineyard planted in the region.
The fruit is open fermented on skins with partial whole bunch and whole berry inclusion. The wine matures for 14 months in a mix of large and small format French oak, 20-40% new.
Deep red purple, Seppelt St Peters Shiraz is poised and medium bodied yet concentrated with mulberry flavours, fine tannins and persistent length.
A powerful, seductive expression of Shiraz. Cellaring potential is 30 years.
