Seppelt Mount Ida Shiraz is sourced from the dry grown Mount Ida Vineyard at Heathcote in central Victoria. Planted in 1975, it is one of the region's pioneering vineyards.

Parcels of fruit are carefully handpicked based on their ability to lend fine tannins and a plush taste to the wine. The fruit is destemmed, but not crushed, and open fermented on skins with gentle hand plunging.

The wine matures in new and seasoned French oak barrels for 12-14 months. It is made only in small quantities, only in exceptional vintages.

Deep red purple, Seppelt Mount Ida Shiraz combines crunchy blackberry flavours with savoury, earthy notes and powdery tannins. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
