Mamre Brook Barossa Shiraz
Wine
Saltram Mamre Brook Barossa Shiraz is named after the historic stone house William Salter built for his family in 1844. The Saltram founder was among the first to purchase land in the new land survey that was the Barossa Valley.
The fruit is sourced from low yielding, mature vineyards throughout the Barossa. Each parcel is kept separate until just prior to bottling.
The grapes are destemmed, crushed and fermented on skins. Maturation is in new and seasoned French oak, including 2,800 litre vats. After 15 months the wine is blended, bottled and aged for six months before release.
Deep ruby red, Saltram Mamre Brook Barossa Shiraz is a medium to full bodied blend of bright sweet fruit flavours and savoury, pulpy tannins. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
