Wine
Ravensworth The Grainery is a blend of Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier, mostly from the estate vineyard at Murrumbateman. In some years there is a small inclusion of Chardonnay.
The fruit is whole bunch pressed and run straight to a mix of demi-muids (600 litre barrels) and ceramic eggs. Select parcels see skin contact and whole cluster fermentation.
After nine months on lees without malolactic fermentation, the wine is transferred to a large Stockinger foudre (vat) with extra lees. It matures for a further year before it is prepared for bottling.
Bright straw green, Ravensworth The Grainery is layered, textural and rich, underpinned by a fine acidity and persistent length. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
