Old Paddock and Old Hill Shiraz
Wine
Mount Pleasant Old Paddock and Old Hill Shiraz blends two celebrated Hunter Valley sites: the Old Paddock Vineyard planted in 1921 by Maurice O'Shea and the nearby Old Hill Vineyard, planted in 1880.
Separate vineyard parcels are crushed to open top fermenters. After a short cold soak, each batch is inoculated for around 10 days of fermentation on skins. They are pressed at dryness to undergo malolactic fermentation.
The wine is then racked to 35% new French oak barrels. Following 15 months of ageing it is blended and bottled.
Dark purple, Mount Pleasant Old Paddock and Old Hill Shiraz has rich dark fruit flavours, beautiful spice notes and integrated supporting oak. Made only in the best years. Cellaring potential is 25 years.
