Cloth Label Red
Wine
Moorilla Cloth Label Red is a blend of Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc from the St. Matthias Vineyard on the Tamar River in northern Tasmania.
The Cloth Label range pays tribute to Moorilla founder Claudio Alcorso who created the textile label Sheridan over a glass of wine in 1967. Each fabric bottle label is printed with natural dyes and hand applied.
The fruit is handpicked and chilled overnight. Each variety is vinified separately using a range of fermentation and maturation practices.
All the components mature in oak for around 10 months, then are blended and returned to oak to mature further. A splash of Riesling is the final piece of the puzzle, added to harmonize the wine.
Maroon red, Moorilla Cloth Label Red is medium bodied with forest fruit flavours, integrated tannins and trademark acidity. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
