Estate Pinot Noir
Wine
Montalto Estate Pinot Noir is a blend of the best parcels of estate grown fruit from across the Mornington Peninsula including sites at Red Hill, Main Ridge and Tuerong.
Most of the grapes are destemmed into open fermenters, where they soak prior to the onset of wild fermentation. The remainder ferment for two weeks as whole bunches before they are destemmed to finish fermentation.
After a week of post ferment maceration, the wine is racked to barrel for natural malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged for 11 months.
Light crimson, Montalto Estate Pinot Noir's sweet fruit flavours are interwoven with structural tannins and bright natural acidity. Cellaring potential is six years.
