Wine
Majella Shiraz, first produced in 1991, is sourced from the estate vineyard at the eastern edge of Coonawarra's famous red strip, comprised of terra rossa soils.
Fermentation is initiated in both static and rotary stainless steel fermenters. After five days the juice is transferred to 300 litre barrels to complete the process.
The wine is aged for a further 18 months in a blend of French and American oak hogsheads. The parcels of Shiraz are then assessed, blended and bottled.
Deep ruby red, Majella Shiraz is full bodied with a spicy aroma, brooding fruit flavours, finely textured tannins and a long, even finish. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
