Estate Pinot Noir
Wine
Kooyong Estate Pinot Noir comprises fruit from the Meres, Haven and Ferrous Blocks on the winery's cool climate, maritime influenced Mornington Peninsula vineyard.
The grapes ferment with ambient yeasts in a combination of large format oak, large concrete tanks and stainless steel tanks, with some whole bunch inclusion.
The wine is then pressed and racked to French oak barrels, from small barriques to large foudres. In these it undergoes natural malolactic fermentation and nine months of ageing. At bottling, there is no fining and minimal filtration.
Bright crimson, Kooyong Estate Pinot Noir is powerful with red berry flavours and silky, fine grained tannins. Cellaring potential is seven years.
