Old Vine Grenache
Wine
Kalleske Old Vine Grenache is sourced from a single low yielding vineyard on the outskirts of Greenock in the Barossa Valley, planted as bush vines in 1935.
The dry grown Grenache grapes are handpicked and destemmed to an open top fermenter. Fermentation occurs with native yeasts, the skins kept entirely submerged for gentle extraction of flavour and colour.
The wine is traditionally pressed and filled to American and French oak hogsheads, none new to highlight the old vine fruit. After 12 months in barrel it is prepared for bottling.
Deep red purple, Kalleske Old Vine Grenache is smooth and medium to full bodied with juicy fruit flavours, fine natural tannins and length. Cellaring potential is seven years.
