Double Barrel Shiraz
Wine
Jacob's Creek Double Barrel Shiraz is sourced from the Barossa Valley, typified by gentle rolling hills and valleys and its warm temperate climate.
The fruit is destemmed and fermented on skins with cultured yeast. As it ferments, pump overs and occasional punch downs help extract colour and tannins from the skins.
After pressing, the wine is first matured in French and American oak barrels for 12-18 months, then finished in aged Scotch whiskey barrels. The narrower staves allow more oxygen, which softens and rounds the tannin profile.
Deep plum red, Jacob's Creek Double Barrel Shiraz is a generous Barossa Shiraz with sweet fruits, integrated charry oak and a soft finish. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
