Chardonnay
Wine
Howard Park Chardonnay is made from estate vineyards in Margaret River, Mount Barker and Porongurup. These cool climate sites produce highly flavoured and tightly structured Chardonnay.
Each individual fruit parcel is handpicked and vinified separately. They are cooled overnight, hand sorted and whole bunch pressed to extract the free run juice.
After minimal settling, the juice transfers directly to French oak barrels for temperature controlled fermentation. A portion of each batch undergoes malolactic fermentation.
The separate parcels age on lees for nine months before the wine is blended in tank. It is minimally fined and filtered prior to bottling.
Glassy yellow, Howard Park Chardonnay has rich fruit flavours, chalky mineral texture and bright acidity providing length. Cellaring potential is five years.
