Kelly's Reserve Chardonnay
Wine
Home Hill Kelly's Reserve Chardonnay is made from the oldest vines at the Home Hill Vineyard in Tasmania. The block was planted in 1992 on grey loam soil over clay.
At the same degree of latitude as Bordeaux in France, the estate vineyard in the Huon Valley experiences the same cold winters and spring rainfall that create ideal conditions for cool climate wine.
The fruit is handpicked and whole bunch pressed. Typically the wine matures for 10 months in one third new French oak barrels.
Straw green, Home Hill Kelly's Reserve Chardonnay has citrus and stone fruit flavours, subtle oak and a crisp acidic finish. Cellaring potential is six years.
