Wine
Hardys Eileen Hardy Shiraz is the flagship Shiraz. It is sourced from a single centenarian McLaren Vale estate vineyard planted in gravelly red loam and clay soils.
The wine takes the name of Thomas Mayfield Hardy's wife, Eileen, the family matriarch and first lady of Australian wine.
Each vintage, only the best fruit is selected for the Eileen Hardy label. The handpicked grapes are destemmed and wild fermented in small open top fermenters with regular hand plunging and pump overs.
The wine is basket pressed to French oak to age for 18 months. It undergoes full malolactic fermentation before bottling.
Deep purple, Hardys Eileen Hardy Shiraz's powerful dark fruit flavours interlace with spice, earthy characters and silky fine tannins. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
