Warner Vineyard Shiraz
Wine
Giaconda Warner Vineyard Shiraz is grown on a north facing slope a short distance from the Beechworth township. The soil is granitic loam over decomposed gravel and clay.
The grapes are destemmed and crushed. With some whole bunches, they are wild yeast fermented in large concrete tanks. The wine remains on skins for an extended period before basket pressing to French oak.
Maturation takes place over two years in Giaconda's underground cave with a stable temperature of 16°C. The wine is bottled with minimal sulphur additions and no filtration.
Deep purple, Giaconda Warner Vineyard Shiraz is highly aromatic with dark fruit flavours, fine savoury tannins and a harmonious finish. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
