Block 8 Chardonnay

Forest Hill Vineyard Block 8 Chardonnay is made with small, carefully selected parcels of fruit from the top rows of Block 8 at Forest Hill Vineyard in Mount Barker, Great Southern.

The fruit is hand harvested. Kept as whole bunches, the grapes are chilled overnight before sorting and pressing.

The free run juice is sent to new and seasoned French oak barrels for wild yeast fermentation. The ferments are held at cool temperatures to retain as much natural freshness as possible.

Select barrels have a short period of stirring, and there are only small amounts of natural malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged for 10 months in barrel, then further in bottle before release.

Brilliant straw, Forest Hill Vineyard Block 8 Chardonnay has an array of stone fruit and citrus notes with a mineral finish driven by natural acidity. Cellaring potential is eight years.
