Wine
Forest Hill Vineyard Block 1 Riesling draws from Great Southern's oldest Riesling vines, planted in 1965. It is made only if the quality of the vintage is exceptional.
Tiny, carefully selected parcels of fruit are hand harvested from Block 1 in the morning. They are chilled and hand sorted before whole bunch pressing.
The best fraction of free run juice is transferred to a small stainless steel vessel, where it is settled and racked off gross lees. A long, cool fermentation follows, with some lees contact prior to bottling.
Bright straw green, Forest Hill Vineyard Block 1 Riesling is typified by a fine chalky texture, with zesty citrus and a long natural acid line. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
