Reserve Block 7 Shiraz
Wine
Deep Woods Estate Reserve Block 7 Shiraz is drawn from the winery's original 1987 planting of dry grown Shiraz, sited in deep, sandy gravels. The estate fruit is supplemented by fruit from a nearby grower vineyard.
Each fruit parcel is vinified individually. Fermentation takes place in a combination of open and static fermenters. Varying degrees of whole bunch inclusion, cold soaking and partial barrel fermentation are applied.
The parcels mature for 14 months in tight grained French oak. Only the best barrels are selected for the final blend.
Vibrant purple, Deep Woods Estate Reserve Block 7 Shiraz has red plum, savoury oak and spice flavours. Its fruit rich centre is braced by luscious, fine grained tannins. Cellaring potential is seven years.
