Wine
Collector Wines Tiger Tiger Chardonnay draws from a vineyard in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains. Situated in a saddle at 850 metres above sea level, the site drains to valleys on either side.
This wine is named after sculptures by Canberra artist Rosalie Gascoigne, which evoke the Australian landscape. Winemaker Alex McKay likens winemaking to the artworks; it too is an expression of the landscape.
The fruit is whole bunch pressed and fermented in a mix of new and seasoned French oak barrels. Each parcel undergoes full malolactic fermentation and is aged on lees prior to blending and bottling.
Straw yellow, Collector Wines Tiger Tiger Chardonnay reveals flavours of citrus and stone fruit with toasty oak and a long, focused finish. Cellaring potential is five years.
