Viognier
Wine
Clonakilla Viognier is grown in the estate Murrumbateman vineyards, from Dr John Kirk's original 1980s plantings and 1999 plantings of the Yarra Yering Viognier clone.
A large portion of the fruit is whole bunch pressed; the rest sees 24 hours on skins prior to pressing. Natural fermentation is in large French oak barrels, followed by maturation for 12 months on lees.
Straw yellow, Clonakilla Viognier is full bodied with spice and ripe stone fruit flavours on a silky, textured palate. Cellaring potential is seven years.
