Paraparap Reserve Pinot Noir
Wine
Brown Magpie Paraparap Reserve Pinot Noir is the winery's leading Pinot Noir. It draws from the cool climate estate vineyard in the Surf Coast hinterland, at Modewarre near Geelong.
The vineyard, planted in the early 2000s to a number of Pinot Noir clones, is situated on sandy loam and light clay soils. All the fruit is handpicked and processed within hours of harvesting.
Fermentation occurs in open 1,000 litre vats with the cap of grape skins regularly hand plunged. The wine then matures in fine grained, toasted French oak barrels, both new and seasoned.
Bright crimson, Brown Magpie Paraparap Reserve Pinot Noir has a profile of delicate cherry flavours and spicy tannins. Cellaring potential is seven years.
