Wine
Brand's Laira Blockers Cabernet Sauvignon takes its name from the landholders who sold their grapes to larger wineries during the 1950s and 1960s.
The wine honours owner Eric Brand who was himself a 'blocker' during this time.
The vines grow in Coonawarra's terra rossa soil. After picking the grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks for seven days, before finishing their ferment in oak. A portion sees extended maceration on skins.
The wine matures in new and seasoned French and American oak for 18 months.
A vibrant red, Brand's Laira Blockers Cabernet Sauvignon has oak and spice flavours, fine tannins and a long finish. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
