Shiraz Viognier
Wine
Boireann Shiraz Viognier is sourced from a high altitude, cool climate single vineyard on the Granite Belt in Queensland. It is situated at 870 metres above sea level in finely decomposed granite soils.
The Shiraz component is grown on the winery's oldest Shiraz block. It is destemmed, crushed and co-fermented with up to 10% Viognier fruit. The fermenting juice is hand plunged. Maturation occurs in French oak barrels, at least one third new.
Vibrant scarlet, Boireann Shiraz Viognier is medium bodied with rich red fruit flavours, peppery notes and velvety but assured tannins. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
