Richardson Cabernet Sauvignon
Wine
Blue Pyrenees Richardson Cabernet Sauvignon is made from the most characterful batches of fruit. It is a tribute to the late Colin Richardson, a larger than life character and fierce advocate for Blue Pyrenees.
Produced only in the best vintages, the wine is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with small inclusions of Malbec and Shiraz in some years. Each is vinified separately.
After a short cold soak, the fruit ferments at warm temperatures over five days. Extended maceration on skins follows. The wine is then sent to new and seasoned French oak barrels for malolactic fermentation and 18 months of maturation.
Deep ruby, Blue Pyrenees Richardson Cabernet Sauvignon integrates powerful dark fruit flavours with oak tannins and a long, savoury aftertaste. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
