Marsanne
Wine
Bird on a Wire Marsanne is a single vineyard wine grown in lean soils in the warmer, drier climes of the Yarra Valley. The grapes are handpicked.
Similar to red wine, the fruit is foot stomped and left on skins to rest before pressing. The juice ferments in seasoned wood barrels with no lees. In vintages where fresher flavours are required, a small portion ferments in tank.
The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation. It is released after several years ageing in bottle.
Pale straw, Bird on a Wire Marsanne is a rich, full wine with spicy, floral aromatics and lush honeyed flavours. Cellaring potential is five years from release.
