Rising Vineyard Chardonnay
Wine
Coldstream Hills Rising Vineyard Chardonnay is sourced from a grower vineyard near St Andrews, planted in 1991. Coldstream Hills have access to many of the best Yarra Valley vineyards.
The south facing Birdwood Block is sited in stony vineyard soils of mudstone gravel over clay. It is planted with Penfolds 58 clone Chardonnay.
All batches of fruit are handled separately. The grapes ferment in new and seasoned French oak barrels and puncheons. The wine matures on lees for nine months before release. It is made with minimal intervention at the winery.
Straw green, Coldstream Hills Rising Vineyard Chardonnay is aromatic with balanced citrus acidity and integrated French oak. Cellaring potential is seven years.
