Wine

Clonakilla Western Vineyard Shiraz Viognier is a small production single parcel wine from one of the winery's older Shiraz blocks, planted in 1990 right next to the winery in Murrumbateman.

The Shiraz is the PT23 clone, known for its peppery character. To further accentuate its character in the winemaking, fermentation includes a significant (about half) whole bunch inclusion. It co-ferments with a small amount of the Viognier.

The wine then matures in new French oak puncheons for 20 months.

Deep purple, Clonakilla Western Vineyard Shiraz Viognier unsurprisingly has trademark spicy, peppery flavours with black fruits and fine tannins. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
