Wine
Bass Phillip Nebbiolo was first produced in 2019, the last new wine introduced by founder Phillip Jones before handing the reins to his successor, Jean-Marie Fourrier.
The grapes are handpicked from a single estate vineyard at Leongatha in Gippsland in southern Victoria. The site is organically and biodynamically managed.
In the typical Bass Phillip style, the wine is made with minimal intervention. The fruit is wild yeast fermented with some oak influence. The wine is then bottled without filtration. Only small quantities are produced.
Deep red purple, Bass Phillip Nebbiolo has ripe, deep fruit flavours, herbal characters and firm, mouth coating tannins. Cellaring potential is six years.
