Bobbie Burns Shiraz
Wine
Campbells Bobbie Burns Shiraz draws from the Bobbie Burns Vineyard in Rutherglen, named after Scottish poet Robert Burns. Its first vintage was released in 1970.
Individual fruit batches are handled separately in the winery. Once crushed, the grapes ferment in a mix of hand plunged open fermenters and closed fermenters, spending 7-10 days on skins.
The wine is then pressed and aged for 18 months in a mix of French and American barrels. The parcels are tasted during maturation to ensure the fruit and oak flavours remain balanced.
Deep ruby red, Campbells Bobbie Burns Shiraz has dark fruit flavours, subtle oak and silky tannins. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
