Reserve Shiraz
Wine
Deep Woods Estate Reserve Shiraz is made with fruit handpicked almost entirely from the winery's old vine Shiraz vineyard, planted in 1972 at Wilyabrup in Margaret River.
Fermentation is in small, open top fermenters. Each parcel has varying amounts of whole bunch inclusion – anywhere from 30% to 100% – to deliver depth and complexity.
At the winery the ferments are plunged twice daily, then pressed after 12 days on skins to a mix of new and seasoned French oak. The parcels age separately on lees for 12 months.
Deep purple, Deep Woods Estate Reserve Shiraz is medium bodied with brambly dark fruit flavours and powdery tannins. Cellaring potential is six years.
