Chardonnay

Frankland Estate Chardonnay is sourced from three different locations in the estate Isolation Ridge Vineyard, planted on undulating north and east facing slopes.

The Mendoza clone fruit is lightly pressed into stainless steel tanks. After settling for 24 hours, the juice is racked off heavy lees to 500 litre new and seasoned French oak puncheons for wild yeast fermentation.

The barrels see stirring both during the ferment and afterwards, building complexity. The wine matures for 10 months on lees prior to bottling.

Light straw, Frankland Estate Chardonnay has a complex fruit profile with rounded texture, a touch of oak and playful acidity. Cellaring potential is five years.
