1965 Vines Rosehill Vineyard Shiraz
Wine
Mount Pleasant 1965 Vines Rosehill Vineyard Shiraz is sourced from three small blocks of the Rosehill Vineyard planted in 1965 by Brian Walsh, successor to winery founder Maurice O'Shea.
Though each block is planted on the same soils of rich volcanic loam, variations in vine spacing, trellising and cultivation produce distinct characters in their grapes. Each block is picked and fermented separately.
The fruit is cold soaked prior to fermentation. Post ferment, the wine is pressed to tank then transferred to new and seasoned large format French oak to age. Around one year later, the wine is blended and bottled.
Deep purple crimson, Mount Pleasant 1965 Vines Rosehill Vineyard Shiraz has intense fruit flavours, structural tannins and a long, fresh finish. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
