Second Take Shiraz
Wine
Yelland & Papps Second Take Shiraz aims to shine a different light on Barossa Shiraz, focusing on a lighter style of the region's signature variety. The fruit is handpicked.
A large proportion of the grapes are placed into puncheons as whole bunches for fermentation. They ferment with wild yeasts for around 14 days, developing bright and aromatic characters.
After basket pressing, the wine is aged in French oak barrels. Small parcels of wine with less whole bunch influence are added at blending. There is no fining or filtration.
Bright crimson purple, Yelland & Papps Second Take Shiraz is medium bodied with long, spicy forest fruit flavours and smooth tannins. Cellaring potential is five years.
