R. Lane Vintners Westgate Vineyard Syrah

The Story Wines R. Lane Vintners Westgate Vineyard Syrah is sourced from the 1969 plantings of Shiraz on the Westgate Vineyard, sited on the hills south of Great Western.

The wine is vinified in several batches with varying amounts of destemmed and whole bunch fruit. Fermentation is with ambient yeasts. After several weeks on skins, the batches are pressed and aged in new and seasoned French oak barrels.

After around 12 months the best barrels are selected to comprise the final blend. At bottling there is no fining or filtration. The wine is only released in exceptional years.

Deep purple, The Story Wines R. Lane Vintners Westgate Vineyard Syrah is medium to full bodied with spicy dark fruit flavours. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
